The first-ever International Energy Festival of Kerala (IEFK) 2024 in honour of the 28th anniversary of EMC's Foundation Day is being celebrated. This three-day event, titled "Energy Transition and Climate Change," is being held in Tagore Theatre in Thiruvananthapuram from February 7th to 9th, 2024.The Kerala government's Department of Power oversees the Energy Management Centre (EMC) in Kerala. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India, has designated Energy Management Centre-Kerala (EMC) as a State Designated Agency (SDA). In the State of Kerala, EMC is tasked with coordinating, enforcing, and regulating the terms of the Energy Conservation Act 2001 (Central Act 52 of 2001).
Kerala Government has became the first State Government in India to establish an Energy Management Centre (EMC) at State level, aiming primarily to remould and instrumentalise energy sector as a catalyst in promoting a development process which is econo-ecologically sustainable.With a view to making energy sector achieve such a lead and catalytic role, EMC has evolved a novel and comprehensive energy management approach and institutional philosophy encompassing management of energy technology systems – both conventional and non-conventional, energy conservation in all sectors of the economy, energy resource management, rural and urban energy systems, energy education and training, energy generation and conservation based employment and poverty alleviation programmes.
I feel privileged to be able to attend this international seminar. We got a lot of information from there. Most of the students who came to attend the seminar there were B Ed students. We got bag, book and pen from there. We also got food. It was a great experience and it would have been a huge loss if I hadn't been able to participate. My friend sruthy received a fan as a gift from there.
